ALIEF ISD School Board Meeting March 22, 2011 6:30 PM - 10:45 PM At tonight’s board meeting I took the opportunity to invite everyone in attendance to our April 2nd Rally for Public Education. Many of the people in attendance were interested in hearing about our rally and walked away with flyers about the event. Information about our benefits plan was also discussed. A presentation was made regarding Aetna or TRS as our insurance providers. Aetna offers HMO and PPO programs, and while TRS offers a comparable PPO program it has a stipulation…once you enter the TRS Insurance program you cannot back out (you have to continue with the coverage, even if you find a better one). More information will follow. I also introduced myself and our staff person, Mark Maldonado to our incoming Superintendent Mr. H.D. Chambers. He was very amicable and A-TSTA/NEA is looking forward to meeting with him regularly. Join me at next month’s meeting. Ovidia Molina, President
